Carlow Pride of Place
We are delighted that Carlow Local Authorities Pride of Place has gone from strength to strength over the years. Last year over 500 guests attended our awards ceremony in Mount Wolseley. Of course, all of this is only possible because of the commitment and dedication shown by you in the community.
This initiative recognises the contribution of communities in Carlow, in developing the visual attraction of the county and in the development of a positive and sustainable quality of life for all the people who live, visit or work in our county.
This year, you will notice, we have made a few changes to the competition. The principal one is the selection of the overall winner of the competition. This year, the entrant with the highest increase in marks ( percentage based ) will be the winner. We feel that this will give a better reflection of the work that has gone into the areas over the past year and give newer groups a fairer chance of taking home the title and more importantly, the winner’s cheque. We have also introduced 3 new categories.

- Penny Pincher’s
On each page of the Application Form there is space available for you to submit additional information and I encourage you all to use this to your full advantage and let the judge know what exactly to look for in your area.
This competition is open to all Community groups, voluntary groups, residents associations, schools, youth groups, Business etc. in Carlow Town and County.
